Looks delightful! That prosciutto is so well marbled.

I learned to cook in my mother's kitchen as well, except I was more at waist height when I started pestering her with questions.

The salad sounds amazing ... prosciutto is really a favorite of mine. I love how you flavored the figs.
The pictures are beautiful. I've always liked Georgetown

Beautiful photos!

Even though I have many great cooks in my family, I never learned to cook from them. They didn't want me hanging around the kitchen being a pain and making a mess when I was growing up. I got my cooking instruction from my middle school Home Ec classes and The Frugal Gourmet (the first cookbook I ever bought for myself).

Beautiful salad. That flavor combination is always a winner.

Your salad looks wonderful, as do the lovely photos of Washington. It's such a great time of year there right now. SInce your post on ramps, I have suddenly heard so much about them in the past week, and tried them in a fresh yogurt dip. I wasn't even aware of ramps before your story!
